Are you looking for an interesting activity to do with your family or friends? Why not opt for camping in the mountains or in the forest? This requires, of course, appropriate equipment, including a tent. Here's how to choose the right tent.

Size: an important criterion

Before going to a shop that specializes in selling camper equipment, you must first determine the number of places you need. If you are planning to go on a ground adventure, the single-person model will suit you perfectly. A more spacious version is recommended if you are camping in a group. On the market, it is possible to find a tent that can accommodate up to 12 people or more. Note that to make sure you don't make a mistake about the size of the equipment you choose, you have to take several parameters into account: your habits and those of your travelling companions, the comfort you are looking for, the quantity of your luggage...

The material: a detail to be checked

You must also choose the material your tent is made of. You can choose from a variety of fabrics. First of all, there is polyester, which is the preferred option if you are looking to save money. It stands out above all because it is resistant and waterproof. However, it is not an excellent insulator and is also vulnerable to UV rays. Then there's polycotton, which is a blend of cotton and polyester. Often used by mid-range tent manufacturers, this material provides excellent thermal insulation. Finally, there is cotton, which is the most appropriate solution if you are looking for the strongest alternative. This version is nevertheless difficult to transport because of its high weight.

Assembly: a crucial point

In some cases, campers have difficulty setting up their tents. This is especially the case if they have opted for models that are difficult to set up, such as the hooped tent. To avoid wasting time setting up equipment, it is best to take a few precautions. In practice, practice setting up the tent while you are still at home. Do not hesitate to strictly follow the instructions given in the installation guide if the equipment was delivered with this type of manual. Above all, don't forget to ask for help if you have trouble putting the different parts together.
